Teaser Tuesday—7

Cover talk! I actually don't have a teaser this week for this Teaser Tuesday, since I actually left my book at school (Very classy, Taylor) so I'm going to have a discussion on the covers. I liked the one to the right a lot better, the hardcover version for it. I think the paperback version isn't nearly as pretty. I really love the bloody flowers on the one in the right,and how pretty the model looks in that picture, but I also love how the wolf is almost a part of Calla in the one on the left.

I like how the covers still look the same, and how the left one's simpler and depicts Calla better, but I think that I like the overdone covers better than the simpler ones, even though I like a simple, captivating cover like this one, but it can't compete with an extravagant cover like the original one.

What do you think of the covers? Which one do you like better and what do you like about both of them? Wow, I could be an LAL teacher with all the questions I have. :)

Teaser Tuesday—6

SUMMARY
What if you only had one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?

Samantha Kingston has it all: looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it turns out to be her last.

The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. Living the last day of her life seven times during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death--and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.

I'm really enjoying this book so far, and I think that the entire concept is great. At first, I thought it was going to be really weird and not as interesting as I wanted it to be, but it's really great so far! And here's my teaser:

I briefly run through my other options: home is obviously out. I won't be welcome at Ally's.

Teaser Tuesday--Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

Hey y'all! I'm sure you're all aware of how inactive I've been on this blog. First of all, I want to apologize for that and I promise that I'm going to be more active instead of throwing this blog to the wolves. Secondly, I want to apologize for any typos on this blog post that I may have because I'm typing this on my iPad and I probably have a few errors that are probably going to have to be fixed. If anything is too hard to read, just leave a comment or something and I'll be sure to fix it ASAP. So here goes with my teaser!
He was like a drug and what did you do with drugs? You pushed them as far away as possible. -Kelsey, Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck
I really like this so far, despite the first ten or so chapters because it was a little slow, but I'd definitely give this a chance if I were you.

Teaser Tuesday: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Yes, yes, all of you scream your heads off at me. I actually had tried in vain to read this...in fourth grade. But I'd lost interest. But back then, all things fantasy, romance, paranormal, and dystopian were shunned in my small ignorant brain. But I've decided why not? To heck with it! Maybe I'll end up liking the books. I've actually just started, so I'm just going to share the first few sentences.
I'd never given much thought to how I would die—though I'd had reason enough in the last few months—but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this.
Interesting, right? I think the first book might be pretty good, but I don't know if I'll like the rest. Only time will tell, right? I usually will find the first few books of a series enjoyable, but then I'll end up just wanting to kill myself if the series start to drag out, like the author just wanted to make a few extra bucks. I think Twilight might be really good, though. New Moon's supposed to be really boring, I don't know about Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn is just supposed to be wrong. Tell me what you think!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Image Detail
"A visit from President Snow. Districts on the verge of uprisings. A direct death threat to Gale, with others to follow. Everyone I loved doomed. And who knows who else will pay for my actions? Unless I turn things around on this tour. Quiet the discontent and put the president's mind at rest. And how? By proving to the country beyond any shadow of a doubt that I love Peeta Mellark."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This book starts off about half a year after the Hunger Games, when the Victory Tour, the tour for the victor of the Games, is about to kick off, and Katniss gets a direct threat from President Snow, telling Katniss to make sure everybody knows that Katniss loves Peeta to make the stunt they pulled in the arena seem like an act of love. (I can't tell you the stunt that they pulled in the arena because that would be spoilery. Just go and read the book and then love it to pieces.)

Teaser Tuesday: Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith

I just started reading this book yesterday, and I'm almost done. It's pretty good so far, just to let you all know. Anyways, here's my teaser this week.
My angel descends. He takes my hand in his. "What the hell just happened?"
"I'm the scariest vampire in the world." I reply.
That was near the end, so it's a little more ominous. But enjoy this weeks teaser! And have a good holiday!

Teaser Tuesday: Tempest Rising by Tracy Deebs

This is it. My first Teaser Tuesday on this blog. I'm not as excited as I usually am. Maybe the lack of sleep I had last night is finally taking a toll on me. But anyway, this is the first one and I'm doing it from the novel I'm reading for my school requirement, so I might be slow in order to preserve it and keep the element of surprise. So you might not see the review until later on. Anyway, let me start with rules.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I know I'm supposed to do only two sentences, but I couldn't resist from doing more. So here it is:

I was colder than I'd ever been—nearly frozen—my body struggling to regulate itself in the downpour. Another gift from dear old Mom, this inability to control my own body temperature except in the water. Not for the first time, I wondered if I was really as cold-blooded as I felt. (Page 50)
That's it. I hope you like it and add Tempest Rising to your TBR (To Be Read) list! It's really good so far, even though it's a little slow in the beginning, but still super dramatic!
